“Empowering a community of learners and leaders.”
Sagewood is a community that supports students to grow and learn both social/emotionally in addition to academically. All staff have a focus on high expectations in all areas and pride themselves on the amazing community this establishes.
Programs
Sagewood Elementary provides students with an education based on standards and utilizes different resources to meet those standards and the students we serve. We utilize standards referenced grading to communicate students' growth to families. All students have access to small group learning for a minimum of 30 minutes a day to meet their individual needs. Sagewood Elementary implements a co-teaching model that includes tutors, resource teachers, a counselor, and our classified staff.
Bridges Math is the main math resource that supports students to gain a conceptual understanding of math concepts. Students receive a hands-on learning experience to math concepts Pre-K – 5th grade.
English Language Arts is structured in the Daily 5 and Writer’s Workshop frameworks. Teachers utilize Heggerty, Secret Stories, Making Meaning, large classroom libraries, Lucy Calkins, and Patterns of Power to support all areas of quality ELA instruction.
Social and emotional learning has a great impact on student success. In order to support a positive environment, we implement behavior expectations in all areas of the school and provide positive feedback to students. Sagewood’s SEL curriculum consists of Toolbox, Caring School Community, and Zones of Regulation.
Our on campus chicken coop provides students with hands-on experience and engagement with science standards in real life. Teachers integrate this into different content areas within their classrooms.

Preschool is available for children who turn 3 by August 1. Morning preschool from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., and afternoon preschool is from 12:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Preschool students are screened for pre-academic skills.
