Bar Nunn Elementary School’s philosophy is to meet the needs of ALL students everyday! Bar Nunn focuses on providing engaging instructional strategies that will ensure the success of all students who enter our building.
Teachers and staff work collaboratively with students and families on creating an environment of success for ALL community members.
Programs
Bar Nunn Elementary uses a standards based instructional model for reading, math, and writing. We also use the Conscious Discipline framework to facilitate positive peer and adult interactions. Bar Nunn supports all students to be empowered in self-regulation and cultivating positive relationships with others.
Activities
Bar Nunn students may participate in clubs such as: Drama, Lego League, Spelling Bee, Technology Club, Science Club, Student Council, Cooking Club, and Art Club. Fourth and Fifth graders may participate in volleyball and basketball through the Casper Recreation Center.
Preschool
Preschool is available for children who turn 3 by August 1. Morning preschool is from 8:45 am to 11:25 am, and afternoon preschool is from 12:45 pm to 3:25 pm. Preschool students are screened for pre-academic skills. The staff discusses student needs and priorities admissions based on those needs. This process is completed in May of each year for the following school year.
Hours
Classes at Bar Nunn run from 8:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Before-school activities begin at 8 a.m. Breakfast is served at 8:20 a.m. School supervision concludes at 3:45 p.m. The Casper YMCA provides on-site childcare until 6:00 p.m. (fees may apply)
