Casper Classical Academy is a public school, founded by a group of parents who wanted a school that offers a classical education with high expectations for all students, and a supportive staff dedicated to the success of students. CCA teaches a classical education that includes studying Western civilization and history, classical literature, and traditional subjects, such as logic and Latin. CCA heavily emphasizes writing and analytical reading.
Programs
Casper Classical Academy follows a rigorous, classical, college-preparatory curriculum approved by the school’s Governing Council. Sixth and seventh graders take reading, writing, math, science, and social studies every day. They then take a semester of P.E. and select from elective courses for the remainder of their schedule from the following: band, orchestra, choir, art, Latin, Intro to Career & Tech Education, Computer Science, or Family and Consumer Sciences.)
Eighth graders take English, math, science, and social studies every day. They then take a semester of P.E. and select from elective courses for the remainder of their schedule from the following: band, orchestra, choir, art, Latin, Logic, Intro to Career & Tech Education, Computer Science, or Family and Consumer Sciences.
For students who qualify with advanced WYTOPP scores and a teacher recommendation, they are placed in our accelerated reading, writing, math, or for 8th graders only, science courses.
Once per week, we offer a chance to teach virtues through our social-emotional curriculum Character Strong. Additionally, once per week during our WIN period, we offer Interventions and Enrichments. Students who need an additional boost of help in ELA or math or another subject receive an intervention, while others receive an enrichment course like jazz band, guitar, cooking, 3-on-3 basketball, etc.
Activities
Students may participate in activities such as National Honor Society, Brain Bowl, Lego Robotics, Yearbook, Chess Club, Spelling Bee, Drama Club, Student Council, eSports, and Chopped (cooking) Club.
In addition, Casper Classical Academy offers the full slate of middle-level sports, including football, volleyball, cross-country running, basketball, wrestling, track, nordic skiing, swimming, soccer, cheerleading, and golf.
