“NCHS Community is committed to preparing responsible and life-long learners who value themselves, contribute to society, and succeed in a changing world.”

Natrona County High School is celebrating its 125th anniversary in the 2021-22 school year. Built in 1924, the current school unites tradition with innovation. Alumni have established themselves in leadership roles throughout the community, state, nation and world. The academic programs are second to none, and the school consistently leads the region with National Merit Scholarship finalists. Nearly all of the staff members have advanced degrees, and many are recognized experts and educational leaders in their respective fields. Staff members collaborate as Professional Learning Communities, focusing on common instruction and assessments. Staff collaboration meetings are designed to enable each and every student to realize his or her full academic potential. We truly believe “Every Day is a Great Day to be a Mustang!”

Programs

NCHS teachers and staff believe that every student can be successful at NCHS. The school has a small learning community freshmen program based upon the philosophy that student success in the ninth grade is a predictor for the eventual successful completion of high school. NCHS offers advanced and honors courses in math, language arts, social studies and science. We offer numerous concurrent enrollment and BOCES courses in conjunction with Casper College. NCHS is one of two public high schools in the state to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program. The IB Program is a comprehensive and rigorous liberal arts course.

In addition to outstanding academic core programs, NCHS has rich elective offerings for students, including fine and performing arts, as well as an extensive selection of foreign language classes, including Russian and American Sign Language. Career Technical Education offers a vast assortment of career trades, agriscience, business education, and family and consumer science. Physical education facilities are exemplary, including a weight room, physical fitness center, and multipurpose outdoor facility. NCHS is proud to offer Junior ROTC, which has been a tradition in the school community since October 1913.

Activities

The number one priority is academic excellence, second to only that are NCHS activities and extracurricular programs, which are among the finest in the Rocky Mountain region. NCHS offers every extracurricular activity sanctioned by the Wyoming High School Activities Association.
