“Dean Morgan Middle School will challenge, support, and empower all learners on their journey to become productive global citizens.”

Vision: Building a Culture of Excellence!

Dean Morgan has a proud history and an exciting future! Our school is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as the first junior high school in the area. Since our Founding in 1952, Dean Morgan has been Comet proud!

Today, we run an alternating block schedule, with Red Days and Black Days to provide longer periods of focused instruction. Co-teaching is one strategy used to support students academically and socially/emotionally throughout the day.

Programs

Dean Morgan’s teachers deliver instruction aligned with the Wyoming State Standards and NCSD’s district curriculum, aiming to meet the needs of all learners. Core classes are provided for language arts, math, science, and social studies. Connections classes are intervention courses to give learners a boost toward grade level standards. Accelerated and advanced courses are designed to challenge students who are mastering grade level standards. FLS and BASE classes are individually designed to help students with identified needs in those areas.

In addition, Dean Morgan has a robust Dual Language Immersion program that allows for students to continue their study of the Spanish language, culture, and media in middle school. These students often leave middle school with college credits for Spanish.

Electives are a significant part of Dean Morgan’s educational program. Career and Technology courses (CTE) such as woodworking, family and consumer science, computer science, and engineering provide students opportunities to develop skills useful in their future careers. In addition, electives such as musical theater, art, orchestra, and band allow students to explore their interests and develop creative abilities. Taken together, these and other electives are designed to help students learn skills and broaden their experiences.

E-Block is an after-school opportunity for students to get academic assistance as needed. If your child plans to attend, please contact your child’s teacher or the office.

Activities

Dean Morgan students can participate on the Comet team in a variety of sports and activities. Athletic offerings include basketball, cross country, football, golf, nordic skiing, soccer, swimming, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling. Morgan Mentors is a student leadership group on campus. In addition, E-Sports and other clubs are available for students. A complete list of clubs is created each year and published on our app and website.
