Eight schools in Natrona County will host half-day TANF preschool programs during the 2023 – 2024 school year. Elementary Schools with preschool programs will include Bar Nunn, Cottonwood, Evansville, Journey, Lincoln, Midwest, Pineview, and Sagewood Elementary Schools. NCSD’s TANF preschools are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and have certified teachers and classroom assistants in classes of 18 students. Morning and afternoon sessions are available. The preschool program is free to families, and parents are encouraged to be involved. Families’ financial information is required, as the program is funded through federal grants. Priority enrollment is given to families who meet federal income guidelines.

 

Ready to enroll your student in an NCSD Preschool?

If you are interested in registering your student for enrollment into an NCSD Preschool program, follow the steps below!

STEP ONE:
Click here to enter your NEW Preschool student's information for the 2024-2025 school year! 
 
If your child is a NEW to NCSD Preschool, please click on the blue gear to start the registration process. The preschool School Choice application is available on your parent portal in Infinite Campus beginning December 28, 2023.
  • School Choice Registration is completed through the NCSD Parent Portal. You must enter your NEW student's information here (click the blue gear).
  • After doing so, NCSD will create your Parent Portal account or connect your new student to your already existing Parent Portal account if you have other children currently attending an NCSD school.
  • Once this is complete and you've received your Parent Portal information, move on to STEP TWO!

STEP TWO:
Log into your NCSD Parent Portal to complete School Choice Registration! 
 
If your child is returning to an NCSD Preschool because they will be 5 after August 1, 2023, please click on the green gear. Your family should already have a parent portal set-up with your student(s) attached. Families must go into the parent portal and make their preschool choices for the 2024-2025 School Year after December 28th, 2023. This is the only step you need to complete.
 
If your child is transitioning from Preschool to Kindergarten, please click on the green gear. This will take you to your NCSD Parent Portal to complete the registration process. Families must go to their parent portal and make school selections for the 2024- 2025 School Year during the School Choice Registration window from December 28, 2023 - January 19, 2024. This is the only step you need to complete. Incoming Kindergarten families will also be prompted to sign-up for a universal kindergarten screening through their parent portal. 
 
A complete application for Preschool Enrollment must include the following:
  • Completed online application
  • A copy of the child's birth certificate (must be at least 3 years old by August 1)
  • New preschool students must provide a copy of the screening from the Child Development Center (CDC). Contact CDC at (307) 235-5097 for an appointment.
  • A copy of the child's immunization record
 
These documents can be provided to the Enrollment office at 970 N. Glenn Rd. or taken directly to your child's school.
 
TANF Preschool parents will be asked to submit financial documentation for TANF qualification May 1, 2024. Parents will be notified by email or mail by the Director of Differentiation and Early Childhood in early summer about their child's preschool placement for the 2024-2025 school year.
