Smart Start Opening for the General Public
 
We look forward to hosting you and your families this fall and sharing the wonders of the universe. In order to protect our community and our staff please keep the following in mind.

  • The Planetarium is a part of the Natrona County School District and all district and state guidelines for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 are in place. 
  • Face coverings optional in the planetarium dome, lobby and gift shop if a 6ft distance between guests cannot be maintained.
  • With current COVID-19 guidelines, our maximum occupancy will be 57 people (not including planetarium staff).  
  • Upon entering the planetarium, each guest is encourages to use hand sanitizer.  
  • There will be one show that will start promptly at 4:00 PM each Tuesday through Friday.  Doors will open at 3:30 PM. 
  • Late guests will not be allowed to enter the dome theatre after 4:10 PM.
  • There will be one show on Saturday nights at 7:00 PM. Doors will open at 6:30 PM.
  • Late guests will not be allowed to enter the dome theatre after 7:05 PM.   
  • Guests may remove face coverings in the dome theatre IF there are 2 or more seats between guests. 
 
The Casper Planetarium is Wyoming's oldest planetarium and has been in continuous operation since 1966. Sporting the latest digital planetarium technology from Digitalis Education Solutions the planeatrium is Casper's virtual starship and time machine.
 
As a part of the Natrona County School District, the Casper Planetarium's primary focus is the support of the K-12 curriculum standards in science. NCSD school groups can visit planetarium staff supports classroom curriculum with shows, lessons, and specifically designed to meet their grade level standards.
 
Out of town schools and civic groups can also visit the planetarium by contacting the NCSD Activities office.
 
In addition to classroom visits, the planetarium also offers shows to the general public. These shows run Tuesday through Friday afternoons at 4:00 PM and Saturday at 7:00 PM.
