NCSD Parent News - August 11, 2023

The first day of school is August 28th, 2023. We are so excited for an exceptional school year! Please see some important information below to help you prepare for an exciting and successful start to the school year.

Food Service - Free and Reduced Meals Application

Families may qualify for free or reduced meals through the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program. We encourage interested families to complete the application. To determine if a household qualifies, families can complete an online application at natronaschools.org or fill out and turn in the paper application directly mailed to their home. Only one application per household needs to be completed. Additionally, you can complete the application if your family's financial circumstances change at any time throughout the school year.

Bus Registration

NCSD Bus Registration is open for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. You do not need to register if your student was an active registered rider last year and you have not moved home addresses.

If your student is a new rider, please complete the registration process.

First-Time Bus Rider Practice Run!

The Natrona County School District Transportation Department will be holding a practice run for first-time (i.e., kindergarten, new to NCSD) bus riders run on Thursday, August 24th, 2023.

Important Information About the Practice Run!

  • Transportation will pick up the parent and student at the student's AM bus stop at the AM pick-up time.
  • Busses will then go to the NCSD Bus Hub. From there, the student and their parent/guardian will transfer to their designated bus to travel to the student's school.
  • Parents and students will not get off the bus at the school. The bus will then reverse the route back to the hub, where parents and students will follow the student's PM route back to the PM Bus Stop.
  • The practice run is only for elementary first-time transportation students.
  • A parent/guardian must accompany the student.

This is only for the Casper area buses and will not include Alcova, Midwest, Poison Spider, and outlying areas.

Back To School Nights!
