Students are selected for “All State Status” through a blind audition process in early November. Statewide, 400 students were selected for the WHSAA All-State Ensembles, including 150 in the choir, 120 in the band, and 100 in the orchestra. Students will spend two days rehearsing with world-class conductors, preparing their music, and then will perform a highly-anticipated concert.
This exciting event celebrates student musicians, and their equally talented and inspiring teachers, across the state for their tremendous talents and passion for musical excellence. “In music, students are always looking for a way to quantify their growth. At schools, we have many metrics to evaluate how we are doing in athletics and academics. This opportunity for music students is a really great way for them to find out how they compare to their peers and to see their own growth and individual success,” shared KWHS Band Teacher Mr. Rose. “All of us at NC and KW are very proud of all the talented and brilliant student musicians who worked hard to audition. These are some pretty amazing students.”
