NCSD Educator, Brooke Hopkins, Named Wyoming's First Year Professional Art Educator Award for 2021

Natrona County School District is excited to announce Park Elementary Art Educator Brooke Hopkins has been named Wyoming's First Year Professional Art Educator for 2021!

Park Elementary is committed to “growing good humans,” and Ms. Hopkins is a shining example of that mission. A former student at Park, it was her own Park Elementary Art teacher who fostered her love of art. “I did as much art as I could growing up and decided I wanted to be able to create a love of art for other kids like I had for myself!” shared Hopkins.

Hopkins expressed her sincere gratitude and appreciation for being chosen for this prestigious honor amongst her fellow educators, “I really do feel truly honored that I was nominated and awarded this. To be among so many other wonderful educators, locally and around the state, I am so elated to be able to accept this award. I couldn't have been more honored or proud to represent Park for this achievement. The staff, administrator, and kids here help push me every day to continue to be a great educator.”

Park Elementary Principal, Emily Catellier, shared her congratulations to Ms. Hopkins, “As a former Park student, Brooke has quickly become a dependable, energetic member of our team. She is passionate about students and committed to being a lifelong learner. We are so excited for her award! ”

Art Education has held a special place in Ms. Hopkins heart since her time as a young elementary student and she is committed to ensuring her students have a terrific learning experience in her classroom, “Being an educator is one of the most rewarding feelings, to make connections with students and watch them grow over six years time, to watch them create interests and help foster those interests, to watch them become wonderful people is the best feeling. It takes patience but it's worth it.”

Congratulations, Ms. Hopkins, on this tremendous accomplishment!
