The Casper FFA Chapter from Natrona County High School has earned national recognition, placing third in the nation in the Farm and Ranch Business Management Contest at the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo. This outstanding achievement marks the highest placement of any Wyoming team competing at this year's national convention.
The Farm and Ranch Business Management event challenges participants to apply their agricultural knowledge and business management skills. Student competitors complete a three-hour examination and team activity that analyzes balance sheets, income statements, partial budgets, and other important aspects of farm and agribusiness financial management. The competition showcases strong analytical skills, teamwork, and a thorough understanding of agriculture's business side.
FFA provides exceptional opportunities for students to serve their community, build leadership skills, and learn about all aspects of the agriculture industry. Throughout the year, students work dedicatedly to excel as teams and individuals with participation in a wide variety of Leadership Development Events (LDEs) and Career Development Events (CDEs), such as livestock evaluation, agricultural sales, marketing plan, parliamentary procedure, creed speaking, and so much more. Each of these important events helps members strengthen communication skills, technical agricultural knowledge, and professionalism.
Casper FFA students exemplify the official FFA motto, Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, and Living to Serve. Beyond their competitive achievements, Casper FFA members are committed to making a positive difference in their community. Throughout the year, Casper FFA students participate in numerous community service and leadership activities, including the annual Rake N Run Event, Can-O-Treat Food Drive, and many other community service projects.
Congratulations to all student participants on your incredible success; please see the results from the National FFA Convention below:
