This outstanding achievement highlights students’ exceptional proficiency in two languages and their dedication to linguistic diversity and cross-cultural understanding as they pursue academic excellence.
The Seal of Biliteracy Pathway Award is a nationally recognized honor bestowed upon student recipients for 2026 from Paradise Valley Elementary, Park Elementary, CY Middle School, and Dean Morgan Middle School.
Dual Language Immersion at NCSD is a parent choice program that begins in Kindergarten at the following schools: Paradise Valley Elementary School (Mandarin Chinese), Park Elementary School (Spanish), and Verda James Elementary School (Spanish). The DLI program continues into middle school at CY (Mandarin Chinese), Centennial (Spanish), and Dean Morgan (Spanish). Students must be enrolled in the elementary program beginning in Kindergarten in order to be eligible to continue in middle school. As students progress in their learning, they may choose to pursue biliteracy opportunities in high school.
Each of these esteemed honors serves as a testament to their commitment to mastering multiple languages and to their ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultural contexts.
