Today, May 5th, 2026, Kelly Walsh High School and Natrona County High School received swatting calls alleging a potential safety concern. As a proactive safety measure, schools were placed in a brief precautionary lockout. School operations occurred as normal within the buildings.
Law enforcement immediately responded to each campus and, together with school officials, followed established safety protocols. Upon arrival and initial assessment, it was quickly determined that the report was not credible and there was no safety concern to students, staff, or schools.
The information received was unfounded, and the threat was unsubstantiated.
Park Elementary also went into a brief lockout due to its proximity to NCHS.
At this time, all lockouts have been lifted.
Out of an abundance of caution, there will be heightened awareness and increased law enforcement presence in the areas throughout the day.
