At NCSD, three FFA chapters, Windy City FFA, Casper FFA, and CY FFA, which include students from CYMS and Poison Spider School, provide outstanding opportunities for students to be involved in serving their community, growing their leadership skills, and learning more about all aspects of the agriculture industry.
Throughout the year, these outstanding students dedicate themselves to excelling as chapters, teams, and individuals in livestock evaluation, individual competitions, and various team and community service initiatives.
NCSD FFA students marked National FFA Week with engaging service projects, competitive events, and school activities that highlighted the value of agricultural education and the wide array of opportunities it offers future leaders.
Embracing the spirit of community service and leadership, the Windy City and Casper FFA chapters volunteered at the Food Bank of the Rockies, sorting and packing hundreds of food boxes for delivery to community members. During the week, community FFA chapters showcased their high-level communication and presentation skills at the district speech contest. Students competed in creed-speaking, prepared, and extemporaneous contests, wowing judges and astounding the audience with their professionalism and leadership.
A highlight of the FFA celebration each year, FFA Chapter members showed appreciation for high school staff by planning, cooking, and serving them delicious food and treats. This expression of gratitude acknowledged teachers' hard work and commitment, giving students a meaningful way to show their appreciation.
Throughout the week, FFA chapters engaged their school communities by sharing interesting agricultural facts and statistics, highlighting agriculture’s vital role in everyday life. By raising awareness about the industry, students promoted the importance of agriculture while inspiring participation and growth in their chapters.
Committed to developing students' potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education, CY FFA, Windy City FFA, and Casper FFA chapters demonstrate strong character, leadership, and a sense of community that extends beyond the classroom year-round. Their ongoing commitment to service, gratitude, and education highlights the FFA's core values and their role as emerging leaders in our community.
Chapter members are committed to exemplifying the official FFA motto, "Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, and Living to Serve," daily.
Exceptional work, students!
