During the event, FIRST® Tech Challenge teams explored the power of the world’s artifacts and uncovered the mysteries behind them in the DECODE™ challenge, presented by RTX. Every artifact told a story. Every tool, invention, and work of art connected participants to the people and ideas that shaped history. Through STEM, collaboration, and ingenuity, students dug deeper into discoveries than ever before. (https://www.firstinspires.org/programs/ftc/)
The event brought together multiple LEGO Robotics teams from across Wyoming to compete in robot performance matches and present innovation projects and robot designs centered on this year’s theme. Throughout the day, teams of students rotated through judging sessions, robot matches, and pit areas where they regrouped and collaborated. The energy and excitement were evident, with students debugging code in one corner, cheering each other on in the competition arena, and then sharing ideas and having fun in the pits.
“LEGO Robotics is important because it gives students real-world problem-solving experience in a way that feels fun, creative, and accessible. Students aren’t just learning coding or engineering concepts, they’re learning how to collaborate, communicate, iterate, and persevere through tough, challenging situations,” shared Andre Moyd, NCSD Program Specialist and FIRST® Delivery Partner for WY. “LEGO Robotics isn’t just about building robots. It’s about building problem-solvers, leaders, and confident young people who see themselves as capable of shaping the future.”
Congratulations to all student participants on an exceptional showing of your creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and design skills!
A special thank you to all volunteers, judges, teachers, club sponsors, school families, NCSD Athletics and Activities office, NCSD Maintenance, BOCES, FIRST partners, and all others whose support encourages students to continue creating, designing, and innovating!
