While exploring the many attractions at the event, students learned about the importance of agriculture and its benefits to our local and global community.
The expo provided a hands-on learning experience, allowing students to engage with various agricultural booths. As they moved from one exhibit to the next, students learned about the importance of animals in farming and ranching, as well as the different aspects of agriculture.
For some students, the expo offered their first opportunity to see livestock up close. Excitement filled the venue as students observed and learned about cattle, alpacas (a clear crowd favorite), sheep, goats, horses, chickens, rabbits, and more. Smiles and laughter were abundant as curiosity turned into meaningful learning experiences.
At the Natrona County Cow-Belles booth, students explored the tools and techniques used in ranching, including ear tagging, branding, fencing, vaccinations, and basic animal first aid. Additional exhibits introduced students to key components of sustainable agriculture, such as beef production, wool, pollination and bees, plant science, soil health, and effective weed management. Local organizations and agricultural professionals shared their knowledge of land stewardship and modern farm equipment, helping students connect classroom learning to real-world applications.
The Natrona County Fire District stopped by to give students an inside look at a truck from its fleet and to share important information about how fire departments provide professional emergency services to the community, including helping protect property, such as agricultural lands.
Over 860 third graders from across Natrona County attended the event to explore the world of agriculture. The event was a resounding success due to the numerous community members, agencies, and student groups who volunteered their time and expertise.
