NCSD Board of Trustees Resolution

A RESOLUTION BY THE NATRONA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 1 BOARD OF TRUSTEES SUPPORTING THE CELEBRATION OF THE 250TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SIGNING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE. 

WHEREAS, the United States of America will commemorate its 250th anniversary of independence on July 4th, 2026, marking a historic milestone in the nations’ enduring commitment to freedom, liberty, and self-governance. 

WHEREAS, the Declaration of Independence, adopted in 1776, boldly affirmed that all are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

WHEREAS, the American story is one of resilience, where generations have stood to defend the ideals that bind us together—freedom, liberty, and the right of every citizen to determine their own life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

WHEREAS, the sacrifices of countless Americans have preserved these ideals through trials, wars, and challenges, ensuring the United States remains a beacon of hope and opportunity.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DECLARED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF NATRONA COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 1 THAT:

1) The District proudly joins in the national observance of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

2) The District supports the development of and participation in initiatives by the schools, their staff, and their students. 

3) This resolution serves as a celebration for the continued freedom, liberty, and self-governance of our Republic which depends on informed, engaged, educated, and responsible citizens.
