Fourth and fifth-grade students glided over the snow-covered trails of Casper Mountain, where they were introduced to the fundamentals of cross-country skiing and the sport of biathlon. As part of their physical education curriculum, students get hands-on experience with equipment, movement techniques, and safety skills, all while enjoying the natural beauty of the outdoors.
The Ski PE program blends physical activity with personal growth and teamwork. By working with trained instructors and coaches, students build confidence and resilience, often surprising themselves with what they can accomplish. A core value of the Ski PE program is its commitment to inclusion for all individuals. Designed to ensure that students of all abilities can participate fully, the program offered special and adaptive equipment for those with physical or developmental needs. This inclusive approach allows every student, regardless of experience or ability level, to share in the excitement of gliding across the snow and hitting biathlon targets.
Thank you to SkiCasper and the Casper Mountain Biathlon Club for sharing this exciting learning opportunity and for supporting educational excellence for all students.
