Second Annual Heavy Civil Construction Career and Training Day a Roaring Success!

With the support of the employees from Oftedal Construction, students operated heavy equipment, used simulators, learned about construction technology, and had the chance to visit with industry experts to learn about career paths and job opportunities within the construction field.

Pathways Innovation Center Core Construction teacher, Rob Hill, shared his appreciation for the opportunity this event provided for all interested students, “This event allowed 45 NCSD students to train on equipment donated by business partners. Students learned about high-demand, high-skill occupations in civil construction while working with professional trainers. Students were excited to be there; it was a great day of learning.”

NCSD Board of Trustee members Dana Howie and Dave Applegate had the opportunity to participate in the event, where they shared their appreciation for the community partners who work diligently to support education in Natrona County and throughout the state. NCSD programs, such as Pathways Innovation Center, were also highlighted for the opportunity provided to students. Pathways Innovation Center (P.I.C.) is an extension of Natrona County’s high school system. Pathways Innovation Center is focused on preparing tomorrow’s workforce through academic, career and technical studies by providing students with an authentic and rigorous learning environment in order to graduate productive citizens who are college, career, and military ready.

NCSD would like to share our appreciation and say thank you, to Oftedal Construction and the Regional Training Center by AGC of Wyoming for helping create exceptional learning opportunities for students.
