Casper Classical Academy Students Leave a Positive and Insightful Mark on the Future!

Students filled a time capsule with items of significance to 2022 and locked it away for future CCA Bobcats to find on March 3rd, 2033, or 3-3-33. Students used their research and critical-thinking skills to select items to place in the time capsule that they believe represent today's society, their experience in 2022 (so far), and what is going on in the world. Students filled the time capsule with items such as cloth masks, an unopened COVID-19 test, photos, deactivated cell phones, a graphing calculator, photos of current student fashion, Tech Decks, student homework, and more to paint the picture of what it's like to be an 8th grader in 2022.

A short video message was also placed into the time capsule, with current students sharing some words of wisdom and advice for the future 8th graders.

"I liked being a student here, they push me and they challenge me..." - Brayden

"Lots of people learned a lot about themselves being in quarantine in 2020 and then 2021/2022 being back into the world. Lots of people have changed and had to adapt and learn a lot about themselves, your inner feelings and about how you want to present yourself to the world." - Ardin

"An important thing about 2022 is how we survived through Coronavirus, and how we tried our best to make things back to normal." - Cormac

"This is America, everybody is free. And I love America." - Dakota

"You found the time capsule, so yay! There are a lot of really cool things in the time capsule, so I hope you take the time to enjoy every single one of the items. We put a lot of work and effort into this....to give you a blast from the past!" - Mrunal

"Just know whatever is going on, you'll be able to get through it." - Abigail

"We wanted to commemorate this moment because that date only happens once every 100 years," shared 8th-grade math teacher Tanya Harris. "We are going to challenge these future students to keep this going for the years 4-4-44, 5-5-55, and beyond. This is a cool mathematical pattern in history, and I want students to be able to enjoy the pattern continued."
