2021 FIRST LEGO League Challenge Wyoming Championship

Wyoming’s FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams came face-to-face for a fierce robotics throw-down at the Ford Wyoming Center on Saturday, December 4th. Thirty-six teams of students in grades 4th – 8th from across Wyoming participated in the 2021 FIRST LEGO League Challenge Wyoming Championship hybrid event. Judges interviewed teams about their Innovation Project, Robot Design and Core Values via an online platform on Tuesday and Thursday. Saturday morning, the event floor was buzzing with excitement as the students were ready to showcase their exceptional skills and innovations!

This season’s Cargo Connect theme encouraged FLL teams to explore the future of transportation and design ways to improve it. From improved shipping containers to drones to special eyeglasses for truck drivers, the teams took a deep dive into this critical and timely issue. Teamwork and gracious professionalism were on full display as the building blocks for their outstanding ideas and solutions.

The tournament’s top honor, The Champion’s Award, recognized a team that embodies the FIRST LEGO League experience by fully embracing our Core Values while achieving excellence and innovation in the Robot Game and Innovation Project.

Congratulations to all student participants on an exceptional showing of your creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and design skills!

A special thank you to all volunteers, judges, teachers, club sponsors, school families, the NCSD Athletics and Activities office, and all others who continue to support, inspire, and encourage students to explore, create, design, and innovate!
