“Preparing all students for their next step by creating high expectations, academic rigor, and personal responsibility.”

Kelly Walsh believes in an atmosphere of caring and respect. “Kelly Walsh is not about the bricks and concrete. That’s not what makes our school special. It’s about the people who show up here every day!”

Kelly Walsh parents and their families are encouraged to be involved in their student’s education. We will continue to seek community members to assist us in our efforts to improve the achievement of all our students. Kelly Walsh High School is a place where “Everybody Counts!” The mission of our school is: “Preparing all students for their next step by creating high expectations, academic rigor, and personal responsibility.”

The faculty and staff of Kelly Walsh High School believe in 4 Pillars as the basis of our school. We believe that any outstanding school should strive for excellence in academics, activities, athletics, and acceptance.

Academics

Kelly Walsh offers a wide variety of classes at all levels. Our Advanced Placement and dual enrollment programs are particularly challenging. Students may choose from a wide array of electives and career-technical education courses in all areas.

Tutoring and academic coaching opportunities are available before and after school and throughout the day for students in all core academic areas. ACT prep sessions are held for students and practice tests are administered to provide feedback to juniors prior to the ACT.

Activities/Athletics

Our school offers all athletic and activity opportunities sponsored by the Wyoming High School Activities Association. Our data shows that all seniors who participate in ONE school-sponsored activity/sport their senior year graduate at a 98% rate compared to the district graduation rate of 84%. We encourage all students to find a place to participate at KWHS.

Acceptance

Our school was built with students of all interests and abilities in mind. We believe that the phrase “Everyone Counts” is reflected in our facility. We realize that our students come in all shapes and sizes and in all interest and ability levels. We also believe that one group of students is not more important than any other group. These beliefs are reflected in our building. Lon Watters once said, “School is a building with four walls with tomorrow inside!” Our facility is great – but the people who come to KW each day are much greater!
