About our school
Natrona County High School serves about 1,400 students in grades 10 through 12. Students attend school in a historical landmark, built in 1924 and listed on the National Historic Register.
The school strives to meet the changing needs of students and to emphasize excellence in academic and extracurricular activities for students.
Our staff
Students at NCHS learn from about 102 regular education teachers, 10 special education teachers and a host of specialists that include tutors and art, music and PE teachers.
Our curriculum
Students at NCHS may participate in International baccalaureate Programme, the Academy and honors, advanced and regular education classes. Classes are available in Junior ROTC, agriculture, automotive technology, construction technology, small engines, welding, electronics and wood classes, as well as Internet, business, accounting, culinary arts and interior design.
Most special education students attend regular education classes with support from special education teachers. Separate classrooms also are available for students with identified behavior and emotional issues, as well as for students with mental disabilities.
The school offers English-as-a-second-language, functional life skills and behavior and social skills classes, as well.
Our activities
Students may extend their learning with library hours that run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, a math lab available at lunch and after school, teacher or tutor assistance before and after school and extended day classes that start at 7 a.m.
Students at NCHS also may participate in 24 sports and activities sanctioned by the Wyoming High School Activities Association.
Several times each year, the school hosts activities to recognize excellent student work in academics, athletics and activities. Students also participate in special activities such as senior send-off day, Homecoming events and other student-planned activities.
Our families
Families are invited to participate in the NCHS Parent-Teacher-Student Association, as well as the district’s Parent Community Advisory Council.
