NWEA
NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) is the organization responsible for the MAP (Measures of Academic Progress) growth test used by NCSD as a local assessment tool. NWEA's MAP is a
computerized adaptive test. Students interact with multiple choice items in the content areas of math, reading and language usage. NWEA tests are given to all 3-6 graders in the fall; accelerated block math students and some subgroups in the winter and to all (2-12 where applicable) in the spring.
The Natrona County School District Office of Assessment and Research has highlighted two priorities to increase student success on NWEA's MAP.
1. Align what students learn with what is tested.
NWEA has produced an online document detailing the specific skills and concepts tested on the MAP system. This Descartes Continuum of Learning is available to registered district users at NWEA Reports site.
If you are not currently using the NWEA reports site and you work in a NCSD classroom contact A&R for details on your access to this resource.
2. Familiarize every student with their test data to set goals for growth.
NWEA operates a comprehensive reports site delivering student, class, grade and school level reporting in all tested areas for all tested seasons chronologically. These reports are available to registered district users at NWEA Reports site.

The Office of Assessment and Research maintains a local database with all student test scores collected in a profile.
